Achievements
EVA (European Vending Association) membership.
EVA is a non-profit association, founded in 1994 in Brussels, representing national vending associations and companies (machine, machine component and accessories manufacturers, ingredient suppliers and operators.) It keeps close contact with the major organisations of the European Community (Council of Europe, European Parliament, Council of Ministers, European Central Bank), the European Coin Committee and the major European organisations in connection with the vending industry. The primary aim of the EVA is to optimise the industry’s commercial interests within the EU legislation, serve as a forum of discussion and exchange of ideas and experience for its members as well as draft standards for the industry.

The Hungarian Vending Association has been the member of EVA since 1 July 1995. The membership gives HVA the opportunity to take part in the programmes of the European association. It provides a facility also to gain information in connection with the distribution and development of European vending machines, environmental issues and hygiene. Besides these it helps the association in collecting data about the industry. There are more projects going on at the EVA at present, for example the HACCP and the process of the Euro conversion.

The HVA compilation of judicial documents was finished in November 1999. The compilation provides information on several topics including: starting a business, conditions of commercial activity, necessary licences for running a business, product standards and hygienic requirements.

"The essentials of hygiene" booklet was finished in May 2001. This publication is also of much help for the members of the industry, and it is a practical guide covering the areas of food law, basic hygienic requirements, hygienic conditions of shipping, rules of cleaning and disinfection and the most important laws that are in force at present.

The Code of Conduct was put in force in March 2001 by the General Assembly. Its main aims are the following: providing fair service to the consumers, setting guidelines for self-regulation of the members of HVA in cooperation and competition and in costumer relations. The Code contributes to helping the association creating its image and has an important role in raising the goodwill of the industry by showing the credibility of HVA.
